about our services, packages and prices, but we understand that
this is a difficult time and that information can seem bewildering
during times of emotional distress. Our staff are therefore on hand
to support you and to clarify and explain anything which is not
clear, so if you would like to talk things through or to ask about
anything at all, then please do telephone us.
Regardless of the options that you choose, we would like to assure
you that your loved one will be brought into our care from the
place of their passing as soon as possible within the constraints of
legal requirements and will remain on our Duke Street premises
with us for the full duration of their stay. We have only one branch
and all of our facilities are located within that building.
Our range of packages and full prices are listed below with full details of what is included within each package.
PACKAGES & PRICING
All funeral directors are legally required to publish a Standardised Price List for a standardised set of products and services, to help you compare prices between different funeral directors so that you can think through your options and make the best choices for you and your family.
BESPOKE TRADITIONAL FUNERAL

This includes all of our professional fees for the care of your loved one:

The administration of the arrangement

Collection of your loved one from within a 15-mile radius of our premises within office hours (a greater distance and/or if out of hours will attract additional expense)

A simulated dark oak effect (foil) “Arran” coffin, 4 handles and engraved nameplate

Your choice of date and time for the funeral (subject to the availability of all parties)

Dressing your loved one in their own clothes

Viewing in the chapel of rest (Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5 pm)

Hearse to travel from the starting point of your choosing (20 running miles allowed)

Funeral conductor and 4 bearers on the day of the service.

Setting up of a "Memory Giving" page for online donations.

Collection of your loved one's remains from the crematorium if applicable and ongoing care of them until you are ready to collect.

We are completely committed to a non ‘selling’ approach when booking and arranging funerals. We believe that it is the small personal details that matter most and that these can be achieved with time and love rather than extravagant financial expenditure. To this end, we can provide you with a written list of the proposed full costs for a funeral at any time and we will always give you clear options when arranging a funeral.
LOWER COST FUNERAL OPTIONS
We will always provide you with an explanation of expenses at our first meeting and a full estimate to ensure that you keep control of the potential costs.
A deposit of the total of third party costs is due at the time of making arrangements.

The Simple Traditional Funeral Specifically excludes the following services:
Embalming; Dressing your loved one in their own clothes; Viewing of your loved one in the chapel of rest; Provision of a limousine; Fees or third party costs payable on the client’s behalf.
DIRECT CREMATION
£1460.00 - Fixed Price
A Direct Cremation is a low-cost cremation that takes place with no funeral service or any of the traditions normally associated with a funeral.
It means you can celebrate the person's life at a time and place best suited for you.
DIRECT BURIAL
£1180 - Fixed Price
+Third Party Costs
A Direct Burial is a straightforward burial that takes place with no funeral service or any of the traditions normally associated with a funeral. It's a low-cost alternative that allows you to remember the person your way.
Please note that the Direct Burial option does not include the cost of the grave or interment fees charged by the cemetery – these costs are extra and will vary according to the cemetery and grave type chosen.
WIDE RANGE OF COFFINS
Traditional solid wood coffins are available for burials alongside simple wood effect (foil) coffins, quality veneer, Painted and Picture options, Cardboard, Pandanus, and either Traditional or Light Willow, which are also suitable for cremations. We offer a large variety of beautiful choices available today as standard and are always happy to assist families with alternatives if requested. Our prices start at £300 for our dark wood effect, foil “Arran” coffin which comes with 4 self coloured handles and an elasticated trim.

These are difficult financial times for Families and we are keenly aware that grieving relatives can be vulnerable when it comes to spending on funeral arrangements. To that end, we are completely committed to a non ‘selling’ approach when booking and arranging funerals. We believe that it is the small personal details that matter most and that these can be achieved with time and love rather than extravagant financial expenditure.
FLORAL LISTS AND DONATIONS
Whether you decide to welcome all floral tributes to your loved one’s Funeral, or to ask for donations in lieu of flowers, we have you covered. If you would like donations to be made to a charity of your choice then we can set up an online "Memory Giving" page to facilitate online donations and messages. This service is provided as standard and at no added cost. For a small additional charge we can also collect cash and cheque donations on the day of the funeral and for one month afterwards. When this option is chosen we will send a ‘Thank You’ to each contributor on your behalf (where their contact details are available) and, one month from the date of the funeral, we will inform you in writing of the total amount collected and sent to your nominated charity and the names of those who donated.
KEEPING COSTS DOWN
Our standardised and complete price lists are on our website in PDF format, for you to download and print, along with examples of typical funeral costs locally. They are also clearly displayed on our premises and copies are available to be taken away or posted out so that clients and potential clients can study and compare them at their own leisure. We are always happy to provide a telephone estimate tailored to your exact needs and to break that estimate down into its constituent parts for total clarity. Coffin Furniture, Coffin Trim, Funeral Robes, Chapel of Rest visits and funerals where the service and committal are taking place in separate venues on the same day (within a 20 mile radius) are all provided as required at no extra cost for bespoke funerals.
OFFICIANTS
For those who have a religious faith the choice of who will officiate at the funeral is an easy one. However, in these increasingly secular times, we never make assumptions about our client’s beliefs and always take the time to discuss exactly what kind of service you would like. This enables us to be sure that the Officiant chosen, whether priest, pastor, minister, humanist or civil celebrant will conduct a service that is a fitting tribute to your loved one. Each of these choices will attract its own fee, which we will settle on your behalf. The average of this in our area is around £240, with additional fees being applied by individual churches if the service is held within a place of worship.
